PROFILE: ANYONE FOR TENNIS?
Hotly tipped to become the finest night of alternative acoustica on Tyneside, Anyone For Tennis launched a few months ago as an experiment in audience interaction. Set downstairs at The Head Of Steam, the monthly night features six acoustic performers playing across two opposite stages in a game of musical tennis. The audience are positioned in the middle of the court with performers playing songs back and forth.
The first three Anyone For Tennis nights have already featured talented local musicians John Egdell, Mick Rolfe, Natalie Stern, Chris Anderson (Simpleswan, pictured), Marc Oliver (Dot to Dots), Aissa Tyley, Craig Clarke, Rebecca Jones, Lucas Renney, Trev Gibb, Gary (Sleepy Valley), Lesley Roley and Dan Bangs (among others).
Anyone For Tennis 4 is scheduled to take place in early September.
